What is the Cloaker?
The Cloaker is the IzeAds campaign protection system. It prevents bots, spy tools, and unwanted visitors from accessing your offer page, automatically redirecting them to a safe page. This protects your campaigns against copies, reports, and analysis by competitors.
3-layer filtering
The Cloaker uses a three-layer filtering system to ensure that only legitimate visitors see your real offer:
- Layer 1 — Bot Detection (System): Automatically detects bots and crawlers by analyzing the User-Agent, known datacenter IPs, and HTTP headers like Accept-Language. Identified bots are redirected to the safe page without ever seeing your offer.
- Layer 1.5 — Shield Anti-Spy: Checks whether the visitor has already been identified as a spy in previous visits. The Shield generates a unique browser fingerprint and, if that fingerprint is on the block list, access is automatically denied.
- Layer 2 — User Filters: You define custom rules for which countries and devices can access the offer. Visitors outside the country or device whitelist are redirected to the safe page.
Delivery modes
When a legitimate visitor passes through all filtering layers, the Cloaker delivers the offer in two ways:
- Redirect (302): The visitor is redirected to the offer URL via an HTTP 302 redirect. This is the simplest and most compatible mode. Use it when the offer page is on a different domain or when there are no iframe restrictions.
- Iframe (Proxy): The offer page is loaded inside an iframe on the tracker domain. The visitor stays on your custom domain, which improves trust and allows injection of tracking scripts. Use it when the offer allows being loaded in an iframe.
Shield Anti-Spy
The Shield Anti-Spy works together with the Cloaker. It detects suspicious behavior in the visitor's browser, such as opening DevTools, Ctrl+U, right-click, and attempts to save the page. When the suspicion score reaches the threshold, the fingerprint is automatically blocked. You can manage blocks in the Admin > Shieldpanel.
When to use the Cloaker?
- When you advertise offers that can be copied by competitors
- When you need to protect landing pages from tools like AdSpy, BigSpy, and similar
- When you want to filter traffic by country or device before showing the offer
- When you need a safe page for Facebook ad reviewers
Integrated tracking
The Cloaker works together with the IzeAds Tracker. Each cloaker campaign is linked to a tracker, ensuring that all events (PageView, Lead, Purchase) are recorded normally, including attribution and metrics.
